Jose Fong's sweet and sour taco

I'm in my grandfather's house now, lying on a pad on the living room floor. Everything's set for tomorrow. It's funny--everything seems so normal. Grampa does. It's hard to imagine he's so sick right now he requires major surgery tomorrow.

The drive from my house to my grandfather's house takes me right through the middle of California's wine country. I'm so used to driving this way that sometimes I forget just how beautiful it is. It was sure beautiful today.
